Electrolysis

Electrolysis hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses electrical current to permanently destroy hair follicles, effectively reducing or eliminating unwanted hair. A very fine probe is gently inserted into the hair follicle. An electrical current is delivered through the probe, which destroys the hair follicle.  The hair is then removed with tweezers or forceps. Multiple sessions are usually required for optimal results, as hair grows in cycles.

Benefits:

  • Permanent Hair Removal: Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal.

  • Effective for All Skin and Hair Types: Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis works on all hair colors and skin tones.

  • Precision: Targets individual hairs, making it suitable for small areas and sensitive regions.

Risks;

  • Discomfort: Some pain or discomfort during the procedure is common.

  • Skin Reactions: Redness, swelling, or irritation can occur after treatment.

  • Scarring: Rarely, scarring or changes in skin pigmentation may happen.

  • Infection: There is a slight risk of infection if the area is not properly cared for post-treatment.

Recovery:

  • Immediate Recovery: Redness and slight swelling typically subside within a few hours to a few days.

  • Post-Care: Avoid sun exposure, hot baths, and heavy exercise for a day or two. Follow any specific aftercare instructions from your electrologist.

  • Results are permanent after completing the recommended sessions. Maintenance sessions may be needed for any new hair growth that occurs.
